Milan 2001: Monday

Whilst half of the team were back at work, the lucky few who had stayed made their way back to Milan from Arona on Monday morning. The chief highlight of the day was to be the long-awaited return of Kristian to Prada, in the ceremonial exchanging of the pants. Unfortunately things did not go too well for the big fella, and it was only his size and the Italians' good breeding which prevented them from chasing him out of the store.

This being CPR, of course, the weekend ended with even more football, as the opening matches of the Battersea Fives tournament was taking place on Monday evening. Garry, Alex, Teo and Andy made it from the tour, with Brian also thankfully present to provide a fresh pair of legs. John and Ken C made a mad dash down to Battersea after their plane had been delayed getting back from Milan, but they arrived to see the team gain a point from their first and only competitive match of the evening. If only the other teams had realised that this was their chance to catch CPR at their lowest ebb: from here on in they'd better watch out.

With that the football and the weekend was well and truly over, but what a way to finish off the season. Yet again the Milan trip was enjoyed by absolutely everyone, with Jon M and Jason in particular coming well and truly to the fore this year. Again, many thanks to everyone who is involved in organising the tour each year and looking after us when we get to Milan (Lord knows what would happen if we were let loose on our own). There's not many teams get to do stuff like this, and we're all exceedingly grateful to those who make it possible for us. Roll on Milan 2002 !
