Both CPR teams journeyed away from vicky Park with heads held high after a fine brace of games for the Clissold teams.
CPR A, taking on top-of-the-league-above-them Cambridge Heath in the Arthur Dann Cup, held firm and clinched a hard earned point, and a big ol’ slice of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. too.
Nat and Paddy were the goal merchants, book ending those of Cambridge Heath.
CPR domination of their firsty half over Earlsberg Eagles was not quite as dominating as the wind’s, but with a 2-0 lead going into the break courtesy of Terry and Walshy, all was looking well. Still, a fresh gust of energy from Eagles and air from an area of low pressure over East Anglia saw the visitors sneak a goal back and pressurise CPR strongly. Fortunately, Pratt was felled in the box and Walshy slotted the resulting pen. Altogether now… “Somewhere after midnight in my wildest fantasy, some are just beyond my reach and some are reaching back for me. Racing through the thunder and rising with the heat..…”
